Russian FM asks North Korea for clarification over fishing boat incident

The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that it had asked North Korea for explanations over the fishing boat incident. On September 20, North Korean coast guards stopped the Russian fishing boat Altai in the Sea of Japan. According to the reports, a North Korean warship, without establishing contact, opened gun fire and fired red flares along the course of the Russian vessel. The boat drifted after the shooting. North Korean servicemen boarded the vessel, examined it and questioned the captain. After the actions, the Altai was allowed to sail farther. Nobody was hurt. The vessel was not damaged.
