A group of Russian tourists, which faced problems with climbing Nepal’s northern mountains, is now at a hotel in Kathmandu, they are safe, Press Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Nepal Azret Botashev said on Saturday. “Yesterday, all the tourists were taken to a hotel in Kathmandu,” he said. “They had medical tests, and all results are positive. Now they rest there.” The press secretary said the incident with the missing tourist, which many media reported about, occurred due to the weather conditions. “The tourists were trekking in Nepal’s northern mountains as the weather conditions changed. Thus, two of them went for assistance, which the local authorities offered soon.” Botashev said the rescue mission had involved helicopters.
