Visiting Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev met with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, State President Truong Tan Sang and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on separate occasions here on Wednesday. Nguyen Phu Trong spoke highly of Medvedev\'s visit to strengthen the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Trong expressed satisfaction with the development of the relationship between the CPV and the United Russia Party, and hoped that the two parties will continue to promote cooperation in all areas. Medvedev stressed that Russia always regards Vietnam as an important partner in Southeast Asia and attaches importance to developing comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam and deepen the cooperation between the two parties. While meeting with Nguyen Sinh Hung, Medvedev expressed the hope that the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Russia will work closely together to create favorable conditions for bilateral cooperation programs. Nguyen Sinh Hung said the state and people of Vietnam are willing to further bolster the good relationship with Russia. Medvedev and State President Truong Tan Sang, during their meeting, believed that the agreements reached by Vietnamese and Russian PMs during the visit will contribute to further promotion of bilateral relations. Medvedev arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday for a two-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung.
