
Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev said that Brussels attacks pose a challenge to the entire civilized world and showed how vulnerable Europe became to terrorist attacks.
During a meeting with the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier here on Wednesday, Medvedev said that what happened in Brussels "is a challenge to the entire civilized world, it is a barbaric terrorist act, which shows just how vulnerable Europe became and how important is a mutual understanding between the different European states and all responsible states, in order to prevent such terrorist attacks and fight the evil that is currently represented by international terrorism." SOT, Dmitri Medvedev, Russian Prime Minister (Russian): "Probably there are different reasons for what is happening, including the current migration situation that has developed in Europe and in Germany. I must admit that we are intensely watching all of this and I have already spoken about it in Munich. We are ready to participate in a discussion of these issues, and of course, to contribute."
For his part, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that the situation in the world call for concern, not only because of the recent terrorist attacks Brussels. The efforts of Germany and Russia must focus on fighting terrorism, he added.
