South Korean Presidet Lee Myung-bak and Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard met here on Thursday to discuss means of bolstering cooperation between the two countries. According to South Korean news agency (Yonhap), the two leaders agreed that cooperation in natural gas and mineral resources development has been expanding between the two countries, and pledged to continue to work closely together to promote resources cooperation and investment in each other’s nation. Lee and Gillard reached the agreement to convene a meeting of their foreign and defense ministers at an early date to strengthen security cooperation. The officials reached the agreement on the “two plus two” security meeting. They met bilaterally on the sidelines of the annual Bali Democracy Forum that opened on the Indonesian resort island.
