Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi conferred on Sunday with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani on regional developments and ways to expand political and economic relations.In the meeting which was held in Doha, the two sides discussed expansion of relations and cooperation and studied avenues to implement the agreements already inked between the two countries. They reviewed the current developments in the Persian Gulf region and underlined the need to bolster cooperation among countries in the region to help stabilize security of the entire region. The Qatari foreign minister, for his part, underscored significant role of the Islamic Republic of Iran to help resolve regional issues and said the peace efforts in absence of Iran’s active role is impossible. Salehi arrived in Doha on Sunday to confer with the country’s high ranking officials on regional developments.
