Salehi discusses Syria, Iraq issues with Erdogan

Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi discussed latest regional issues including situations in Syria and Iraq with Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the meeting Wednesday night, the two officials reviewed bilateral ties and explored ways of promoting Tehran-Ankara relations. The Turkish prime minister voiced Turkey\'s readiness to expand cooperation with Iran in all possible areas. He also expressed the interest of his country in exchanging views with Iran on regional issues with an aim of consolidating security, peace and stability in the region. The two sides hoped for enhanciement of their trade volume to dlrs 30 billion by 2015. They also exchanged views on Iran’s nuclear program and the talks between Tehran and group 5+1. Erdogan said Turkey always supported Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities and thought cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency will help settle the issue. Salehi is in Turkey to take part in the 23rd joint economic commission session.
