Visiting Foreign Minister of the Palestinian Hamas-led government Mahmoud al-Zahar conferred on Thursday with Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on issues of mutual interests as well as regional developments. According to the Information and Press Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the meeting Salehi explicitly voiced Iran’s support for the cause of Palestine, Palestinian resistance, wave of Islamic awakening in the region, recent developments in the Middle East and North of Africa aimed at weakening the Zionists fronts. Condemning the dastard atrocities of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people is the sign of its weakness, Salehi said, adding that supporting the cause of Palestine is among Iran’s principles. “We are quite confident that the Palestinians will win the struggle,” he said. The Palestinian envoy, for his part, lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran for its sincere support for the Palestinian people and Islamic movement and outlined the latest developments in Palestine. He also vowed that the Palestinian people\'s resistance would continue with more strength. Recent uprisings in the Middle East region and North Africa are in line with Islamic goals and triumph of the Palestinian people, he said.
