An official source at the Saudi Foreign Ministry denied that Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has paid a secret visit to Turkey. The official said in statements to Saudi Press agency (SPA) that the Deputy Foreign Minister did not visit Turkey recently, adding that his last visit was more than one month ago when he headed the Kingdom's delegation to the UN Alliance of Civilizations Forum, which was held in Istanbul. The official also made statements to Reuters news agency about the Kingdom's position on some media reports that Saudi Arabia supports the establishment of a base in Turkey near the border with Syria to provide support for the Syrian rebels. He underlined that the Kingdom's position in this regard is well known and declared, which is to provide material and humanitarian assistance for the Syrian people and urge the international community to enable the Syrian people to at least protect itself, especially as the Syrian regime imports all types of weapons to fight and oppress its people in a fierce war.
