Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour has received a request from the Saudi Embassy here for repatriation of the body of Majed Al-Majed, the leader of an Al-Qaeda-linked group that claimed responsibility for last year's deadly attack on Iran's Embassy in Beirut. The request from the Saudi Embassy has been filed to the Foreign Ministry and referred to Lebanese authorities for consideration, Lebanon's National News Agency reported. Wanted by Lebanon, Al-Majid, who was arrested in late December, died at a military hospital in Beirut over the weekend. The Saudi national headed the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an Al-Qaeda offshoot that claimed responsibility for the November 19, 2013, suicide bombings outside Iran's Embassy in Beirut that claimed the lives of 30 people, including a diplomat.
