
Saudi Arabia welcomed on Monday His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's initiative to host the 2nd donors conference to help the Syrian people, due on January 15. The Saudi cabinet, in a statement after a weekly meeting, hoped that the results of the conference help alleviate t he sufferings of the brotherly Syrian people, especially those displaced. Sixty-nine countries and 200 journalists will be attending the Kuwait's conference. Meanwhile, the cabinet stressed the importance that the talks between the Israelis and Palestinians lead to a comprehensive and just peace which enables the Palestinian people to regain their rights, foremost establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. The cabinet denounced the decisions of Israeli occupation authorities to build 1,400 housing units in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, in a violation of UN resolutions thus undermine the entire peace process.
