The plane carrying the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, and the accompanying delegation Sunday returned to Khartoum after it was en route to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on an official visit to attend the inauguration of the new President of Iran, Hassan Rohani. The Plane returned to Khartoum without continuing its journey to Tehran after it was prevented by the Saudi Civil Aviation authorities to cross into the Saudi air space, despite the fact that a crossing permit was given to the plane which was carrying a head of state. It is to be recalled that the same plane is a chartered Saudi one and its crew are not Sudanese, who failed to give the information relating to the transit permit when the plane was flying in the Saudi air space. The delegation accompanying President Al-Bashir included the Ministers of the Cabinet Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Agriculture and Investment. The Sudanese authorities are still waiting for the official response of Sudan Arabia, especially that the plane was already given crossing permission.
