
The Saudi cabinet, chaired by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, welcomed anew a French initiative for holding an international peace conference in line with terms of reference of peace process, topped by the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Minister of State, Cabinet's Member and Acting Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Essam bin Saad bin Said said in a statement on Monday that the cabinet tackled the kingdom's speech on behalf of the Arab Group at the United Nations on item 50 on the report of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting Human Rights of the Palestinian people, at which it expressed its deep concern of the escalation of violence.
The Saudi king briefed the cabinet on the phone call he made to US President-elect Donald Trump after winning the presidential election during which he said the kingdom seeks to enhance strategic relations with the US and act together to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East and the world.
