Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Thursday described the Gulf-US summit as "constructive and fruitful."
The summit will contribute to boosting consultation and cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the United States, king Salman said in his speech at the end of the summit, which was held in Riyadh.
He stressed the GCC countries' keenness to cement historical and strategic relations with the US to serve the joint interests and security and peace in the region and the world.
For his part, US President Barack Obama described the summit as successful, saying that his country protects its interests in the Gulf region and its allies against any attacks especially in the hot places.
