A 16-year-old Seattle girl avoided serious injury when the glasses she was wearing deflected a bullet during a drive-by shooting, police said. Alonza Bryant was lying on a couch in the living room of her family's residence about 9:40 p.m. PST when a group -- possibly in a dark sedan -- opened fire, KING-TV, Seattle, reported Sunday. One of the bullets entered the home through the front window, striking the bridge of Bryant's glasses. "I fell asleep with my glasses on," she said. "If I didn't have my glasses on I wouldn't be here." Police said the teen wasn't the intended target of the drive-by shooting. LaVette Bryant, the teen's mother, said no one living in the home has any connection to gangs. "We are honest, upright citizens. We don't do anything -- harm -- to anyone in this neighborhood," she said. "It might have been intended for someone who either came by or used to live here," she added. "We have to move. We have to find a place to stay tonight because we're not staying here."
