
In accordance with the Government’s wise vision to create an integrated digital environment that will support the process of developing the smart shifting in the emirate, Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) released number of electronic and smart service that aim to extend the benefits of its services.
One of these services is "Together We Protect the Arabic Language" which enables the public from reporting any misspelling or linguistic errors in the signboards. The release of this service and the act of making it available in the stores at smartphones is considered as the Department’s commitment to protect the Arabic language.
Also, SEDD launched "Sales and Promotions" service that is a smart and e-service which allows public to inquiry about all the commercial establishments in Sharjah that has sales or discounts. Such a thing can be looked for either by choosing the area where the store is located, or the product hereby the application will provide you with the other needed information like where to get is and some details about the promotions applied on it.
Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, emphasised that under the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the continuous pursuit of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, the Department works to provide the needed human and technical resources and present all that is new and developed from e-services in order to ease procedures on customers thus to attain the concept of smart government in cooperation and coordination with different entities in Sharjah.
On the other hand, Ali Al Naqbi, Acting Deputy Director of Information Technology Department at SEDD, said that the Department will carry on the process of improving and developing its electronic and smart services and the provision of them in order to ease procedures on customers.
He added that the number of the e-services that can be found through the Department’s website www.sedd.ae hit 69 ones and the smarts services that can be downloaded through smartphones reached 46 ones. Also, SEDD activated the e-linking process with more than 31 entities in order to facilitate things on its visitors and the users of its services. After that, he clarified that (3) new e-services will be launched soon which are related to sales, liquidation and booth permits.
Moreover, Al Naqbi called all the investors to benefit from SEDD’s services that are available through its website and the smartphones to complete their procedures. He added that all the transactions and procedures can be carried out through such services without having to visit the Department.
Then, he stressed that the Department’s concerns to offer such services comes within its imitative of electronic shifting to save investors and customers’ time and effort, ease things on them, and provide them with more opportunities and choices to complete their transactions.
