
The second informal meeting of senior officials of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union will be held on 8 December in Kuwait, which will hold the presidency of the six-member GCC. Ambassador Amal Al Hamad, head of the GCC mission in Brussels, told the Kuwait news agency, KUNA, Tuesday that the regional and international developments require continued consultation and coordination between the EU and the GCC which are linked to an important strategic relationship since the conclusion of cooperation agreement between the two sides in 1988. Al Hamad said that the meeting would discuss ways to strengthen relations between the two sides in addition to a number of issues, most notably the crisis in Syria, the peace process in the Middle East, Yemen, Iran, Iraq, and the fight against terrorism
