
The senior Keeper (Sadin) of the Kaaba Sheikh Abdulqader Al-Shaibi received from the General Chief of the Presidency for the Two Holy Mosques Affairs, Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Sudais the new Kiswa (black cover) of the Kaaba in a ceremony held on this occasion Sunday. According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), speaking on the occasion, Al-Sudais shed light on the history of the traditional Kiswa handover ceremonies through the ages. He highlighted the special care and attention being given since the era of the founder of Saudi Arabia King Abdulaziz bin Abdurrahman until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. Al-Sudais thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier for providing support to the Holy Mosques. The holy Kaaba will be covered with its new 20-million-riyal (USD 5.3 million) Kiswa on Dhul Hijjah 9th.
