Senior MP hails Palestinians\' upper hand in prisoners swap

Palestinian Legislative Council member Hassan Kharisha lauded the Palestinian negotiators\' powerful stance and upper hand in the prisoners swap deal talks with Israel, and said it indicated that resistance is the fastest way of liberating Palestinian lands and captivating Zionist soldiers is the fastest way of freeing the Palestinian prisoners.\"It is for the first time that Palestinian negotiators have the winning and powerful cards in negotiations with the Zionist regime and it is just opposite to the previous negotiations that did not have any result or benefit for the Palestinian nation,\" Kharisha told FNA on Monday. On October 11, Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas and Tel Aviv approved an agreement that will result in freedom for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in return for an Israeli soldier who has been held captive by Hamas for five years in the Gaza Strip. Gilad Shalit\'s freedom will be exchanged for around 1,000 Palestinian prisoners, it was confirmed last week. Kharisha addressed the advocates of negotiations and peace talks with Israel, and said the best and the most rapid way to free Palestinian prisoners and territories is showing resistance and captivating the Zionist soldiers. He dismissed the Arab League (AL) foreign ministerial meeting on Zionists\' abuse and mistreatment of the Palestinian prisoners as an ineffective and unproductive move with \"no value\", saying, \"Such meetings have no value; as single Palestinian combatant can impose some realities on the occupiers that all the AL foreign ministers\' meetings and resolutions can\'t.\" Hamas Government\'s Minister for Prisoners Affairs Atallah Abu Al-Sabah had also said that the swap deal between Israel and the movement was a great victory for the Palestinians as it happened after the Zionists surrendered to the conditions of the resistance movement. \"Prisoners swap is a great victory in the battle between the resistance and the occupying regime (Israel),\" Abu Al-Sabah told FNA in Ramallah on Wednesday. \"The resistance gained victory this time as it made the occupiers accept the conditions of the resistance and ink a deal for the prisoners swap, and this issue will boost the Palestinian Resistance\'s morale and motivation,\" he continued.
