The proposal of the Gulf union needs thorough "deliberations and study" via consultations among the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, a senior Kuwaiti official affirmed Sunday. The union "needs more deliberations and study through ongoing consultations" among the six GCC member states, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of Health, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said in answer to a question on sidelines of the opening of the media center of the 34th GCC Summit. "This issue is being deliberated and if the union is approved then it will be discussed in a special session to be held in the city of Riyadh," capital of Saudi Arabia, said Sheikh Mohammad. "Our leaders who will meet in the next days will overcome all problems ... which will contribute to more prosperity in the region," he said. On the single Gulf currency, Sheikh Mohammad said he could not "predict the future but the Kuwait summit will have many resolutions for the interest of the people of the region." Asked about the Qatar-Saudi dispute, Sheikh Mohammad told reporters that they would see how warm relations were "through pictures air life from the summit."
