Slovak Ambassador in Cairo Valer Franko highlighted the success of the fourth meeting of the European foreign ministers and the Arab League over the past two days.
In statements to MENA on Thursday, Franko said Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak called for furthering cooperation between the EU and the Arab League.
The top diplomat also said cooperation between the two sides should not be restricted to settling conflicts, offering humanitarian aid and combating terror. Cooperation should also include several other domains, such as education, research and communications, Franko said.
As for the illegal immigration problem, the foreign minister said no country can confront such problem alone and there should be regional cooperation in this respect, Franko said.
Franko added that the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group, which comprises the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, had separate talks with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on the latest regional developments and Egypt's role in this respect.
The talks also tackled means of enhancing Egyptian- Visegrad Group cooperation.
