Arab League Assistant Secretary-General Mohamed Sobeih called on the Arab countries to shoulder their responsibility for Gaza reconstruction. In statements Thursday, Sobeih underlined the importance of an Egyptian-brokered truce agreement reached between Hamas and Israel. He called on Arab countries to follow up the items of the deal and end the blockade imposed on Gaza. "A visit by an Arab ministerial delegation to the Gaza Strip conveyed an important message in the framework of efforts aiming at breaking the blockade," Sobeih added. He warned against the inter-Palestinian division, asserting that Egypt and other Arab countries are working on ending the Palestinian rifts.
