South Korea\'s president to visit India, Switzerland

South Korea's President Park Geun-hye will make state visits to India and Switzerland next week.During her four-day stay in India from next Wednesday, Park will meet with India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, according to Korea's (KBS WRLD) website.The presidential office said the two leaders will discuss ways to boost bilateral trade and investment as well as expanding cooperation in foreign affairs and defense.The top office says Park's visit to India will mark the beginning of efforts to strengthen ties with newly emerging economic blocs.The South Korean president will then spend four days in Switzerland. She will meet President Didier Burkhalter and discuss cooperation in science and technology and ways to jointly respond to climate change.Park will be the first South Korean president to make a state visit to Switzerland since the countries forged diplomatic ties in 1963.
