
South Korea Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and U.S. counterpart John Kerry are set to hold phone talks later this week to discuss issues over North Korea including its latest party congress, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said Friday, according to Yonhap news agency.
The two officials will discuss North Korea's nuclear issues and sanctions against Pyongyang, a Foreign Ministry official said. The meeting comes as North Korea kicked off its party congress for the first time in 36 years.
Seoul and Washington are expected to discuss the congress as well as ways to continue international sanctions on Pyongyang.
