
Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura, stressed that the dialogue among states and entities are necessity in order to enhance idea of joint benefit and mutual reliance between the various forces and parties. This came in at Dr. Al Al-Shiekh's speech before the 6th General Assembly of the Federation of Asian Parliaments (FAP) being held in Islamabad. "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia realizes importance of dialogue and worked hardily to make it a base of its foreign policy. Due to the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud with collaboration of Spain and Austria, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue was established in Vienna on November, 2012. This center reflects the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' belief of the human's ability to make the world an oasis of peace and coexistence," the Speaker of Majlis Al Shura said. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh confirmed that the Federation of the Asian Parliaments is an opportunity for a discussion of all issues concerning the peoples of the member states. He pointed out the Asian continent facing challenges and developments which required all of the member states to discuss the political, economic and social dimensions and repercussions of the events. The Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura stressed the need to intensify efforts to mobilize a unified international stance against Israel to stop its aggression and expansion of its settlements. He also highlighted the Syrian crisis, reiterating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's stance of denouncing acts of repression and bloodshed against the Syrian people.
