Joint talks started in Khartoum today between ministers of the Sudanese government and the Republic of South Sudan under Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economy Ali Mahmoud Abdel Rasoul and South Sudan Minister of Presidency of the Council of Ministers Deng Alor. At the outset of the meeting, the Minister of Presidency of the Council of Ministers in southern Sudan underlined that relations between the two countries must be of a special nature, noting that his government attaches special importance to the visit as it constitutes the start of close cooperation between the two sides. For his part, the Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economy said three committees will be formed: the first of which is to discuss education ad joint cooperation, the second to discuss humanitarian affairs, security aspects and the border, while the third will deal with the economic affairs, trade issues, financial, investment, industry and oil.
