Sudan demands expelling of Norwegian diplomat in respond to similar move

Sudan\'s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday summoned the nominated Norwegian Ambassador to Sudan and notified him with Sudan\'s request to the Norwegian government to expel one of its diplomats (Adviser) in the Norwegian Embassy in Khartoum from the country. \"The move comes in respond to the Norwegian government\'s demand to Sudan on Tuesday to withdraw its Adviser at the Sudanese Embassy in Oslo,\" said the Sudanese foreign ministry in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by Xinhua. According to the statement, the Sudanese foreign ministry expressed hope that this move would not affect the two countries\' progressing relations. The Norwegian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday summoned the Sudanese Charge d\'Affairs in Oslo and asked him to immediately expel one of the Sudanese diplomats in Norway. The Norwegian Police Security Service was reported to have arrested a 38-year old Sudanese for spying on Sudanese refugees in Norway. Spokesman of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry Kjetil Elsebutangen was reported to have said that the man provided information to the expelled diplomat, who did not name, at Sudan\'s embassy in Norway. He said the Sudanese diplomat was involved in activities that do no consist with his mission as a diplomat, the reason why he was demanded to leave the country. Yet, the Sudanese embassy has totally refuted the accusation.
