Sudan government delegation for negotiations returns from Addis Ababa

The government delegation for the negotiation with South Sudan State, headed by the State Minister at the Presidency of the Republic, Idris Abdul-Gadir, returned to Khartoum Tuesday afternoon. At a press conference held at Khartoum Airport, Abdul-Gadir said that the delegations of Sudan and South Sudan agreed on Tuesday morning on the matrix for implementing the nine cooperation agreements which were signed on September 27, 2012 in Addis Ababa. Abdul-Gadir said that the signed agreements included the security arrangements, oil, trade, banks, foreign debts, pensions, border demarcation and the movement of citizens, adding that implementation of the agreements began on March 10. Meanwhile, member of the delegation, Gen. Imad Adawi said that the signing of agreements would pave the way for cooperation in all fields, especially in the security field. He pointed to the clause on immediate withdrawal of the two armies to an area of 14 miles within a period of 14 miles. He indicated that the disarmed area will extend to 20 kilometers in each country. Gen. Adawi also referred to formation of committee for implementation and follow up of the agreement. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Awad Abdul-Fattah, said that instructions were given to the companies operating in the oil field to resume work in the oil field within two weeks. He said that technical and administrative procedure would be adopted for pumping South Sudan oil via Sudan oil tube to the Sudanese ports for exportation.
