
President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, will head Sudan delegation for the IGAD summit scheduled in Nairobi on March 25.
The summit will discuss the issue of the Somali refugees.
The Vice - President Sunday chaired at the Republican Palace a meeting which discussed the preparations for Sudan participation at the IGAD summit.
In a press statement after the meeting, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Kamal Ismail, said that the IGAD summit in Nairobi will review a number of major issues relating to the situation of refugees at the IGAD region and ways to contain the Somali refugees' phenomenon in the region.
He indicated that the summit will draw up a clear-cut policy for combating the risk of immigration from Somalia, referring to the stance of Sudan concerning the immigration issue and refugee phenomenon.
The minister said that the meeting of the experts will be held on March 23 and meetings of the ministerial council will be held on March 24 to prepare for the summit which will begin on March 25.
