Supreme Federal Court
Abu dhabi - Arab Today

Judge Mohammed Hamad Al Badi, Chief Justice of the Supreme Federal Court, he stressed the state's leadership stance to ensure the independence of the judiciary by re-enforcing the seniority of the Supreme Federal Court, as a main constitutional pillar since the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

According to the chief justice, the judicial system continues to improve upon the high standards expected by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, as well as Members of Supreme Council, Their Highnesses the Rulers of Emirates, who have given the judiciary system their full attention.

The Supreme Federal Court has become a revered judicial establishment through its achievements during the last 40 years and its considerable contributions to developing the UAE’s standards for judicial law, he added.

The General Assembly of the Supreme Federal Court held its annual meeting on Tuesday at the Guest Hall in the Court Building. It was presided over by the chief justice and attended by other court judges.

Al Badi expressed his happiness at the diligence shown in the large number of judicial rulings, as well as the judicial foundations and rules that were set by the court to apply all types of law, whether criminal, administrative, civil, trade or any other case.

He said that the Supreme Federal Court’s achievements during its relatively short lifetime is the result of accumulated efforts from the expertise of the exceptional judicial heads that have taken charge since its establishment in 1973, right up to the current time. He also highlighted the diversity of cultures of the court’s judges, from UAE citizens and residents from Arab countries, which allowed it to maintain all established judicial thoughts.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the previous Chief Justice, Dr. Abdul Wahab Abdoul, and the judges who contributed to building and advancing the Supreme Federal Court to its current position as a judicial beacon in the UAE.
