
Up to 3,000 women and children from area Muadamiyet Al-Cham were evacuated on Sunday, the second consecutive day of this operation, Syrian news agency (SANA) said. The agency said the evacuation, part of efforts to protect citizens, was in collaboration between the Social Affairs Ministry and the suburb of Damascus Governorate, and the Syrian Red Crescent. All women and children evacuated were sent to temporary shelters, prepared with all the necessary needs and medical services, established by the Red Crescent, Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Kinda Al-Shammat said in a statement. The minister added that \"the Red Crescent has offered the necessary relief and emergency services to the citizens.\" Last night, the social affairs Ministry, Damascus Countryside Governorate and the Red Crescent also transported 2,000 women and children from Muadamiyet Al-Sham who had been held hostage by terrorist groups to temporary housing centers.
