Three Syrian refugees have died while trying to cross the border to Jordan, said an official here on Monday. The increasing number of Syrian refugeess is a result of escalating violence, hunger, and shortage of supplies back in their country, Al-Ghad daily quoted General Coordinator for the affairs of Syrian refugees, Anmar Al-Humoud, as saying. He said that some 3,600 refugees crossed the border to Jordan yesterday. In the last couple of weeks, over 20,000 Syrian sought refuge in Jordan. Since the beginning of the crisis in March 2011, the number of Syrian refugees have exceeded 300,000, said Al-Humoud.
