Syrian refugees urge Kerry for no-fly zone

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday visited Zaatari camp and Syrian refugees demanded that United States should set up a no-fly zone in Syria. Kerry with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh visited Zaateri camp, the biggest Syrian refugee camp in south of the Syrian border in north of Amman. During the 40-minute meeting with the representatives of refugees, Syrian refugees asked for Kerry\'s support for a no-fly zone and to set up protected humanitarian safe havens in Syria. \"We are begging you for a no-fly zone,\" said a Syrian refugee, Jamalat Abu al-Hariri. Kerry in response said \"There are a lot of different options which are under consideration. I wish it would be very simple\". \"As you know, the US have been in war in two countries for 12 years. We are trying to help Syrian opposition in various ways including suppliying weapons. We are doing new things. We consider buffer zones and many other things but it is not as simple as it sounds,\" Kerry added. Kerry in a press statement after the meeting said he understood the refugees\' concerns and added, the U.S. is the biggest provider of humanitarian aid to Syrian people. \"I think they are frustrated and angry at the world for not stepping up,\" Kerry said and added, \"If I were in their shoes, I would be looking for help wherever I could find it. I understand their passion and frustration which resulted from these problems they face on a daily basis,\" said Kerry. About 130 thousand people took shelter and an average of 1 thousand 500 refugees arrived each day at the camp which was set up in June 2012. Turkey also has 200 thousand refugees in its camps. Regarding the camp conditions, the camp manager for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Killian Kleinschmidt said \"The conflict has reached a level of brutality that is unbelievable\".
