Tehran, Paris agree to hold regular political consultations

Iranian top diplomat Mohammad Javad Zarif and his French counterpart Laurent Fabius agreed on holding regular political consultations meetings between the two states to discuss bilateral ties and the latest developments in the region. During the meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York on Wednesday, Zarif and Fabius discussed and agreed on regular political consultations between Paris and Tehran at the level of deputy foreign ministers. In the meeting, Zarif expounded on Iran’s stance on Syria crisism, and underlined necessity of full solution of the crisis in the framework of Syrian-Syrian negotiation. Fabius, for his part, admitted that if Syrian crisis gets prolonged, the situation will get more complicated and ground for radical activities would be more. In a relevant development on Tuesday, Iran\'s President Hassan Rouhani and his French counterpart Francois Hollande held talks over the most important issues in the Middle-East, including the crisis in Syria. In a meeting on the sidelines of the 68th annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Rouhani conferred with Hollande on the latest developments in the crisis-hit Syria to find a peaceful and diplomatic solution to end the bloodshed there.
