Top Chinese political advisor meets Mozambican president

Top Chinese political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Friday met with Mozambican President Armando Guebuza ahead of the second session of the World Cultural Forum (Taihu, China). Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People\'s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also met Governor-General of Antigua and Barbuda Louise Lake-Tack in a separate meeting. Guebuza and Lake-Tack are visiting Hangzhou, capital of east China\'s Zhejiang Province for the forum, which will begin on Saturday. During the meeting with Guebuza, Yu reviewed the smooth growth of China-Mozambique relations since the two countries forged diplomatic ties in 1975. Yu cited fruitful cooperation in agriculture and other sectors. Yu said China placed importance on developing ties with Mozambique and would like to work with the country to carry out agreements of leaders of the two countries and improve bilateral friendly cooperation. Yu said China would like to increase dialogues and cooperation with Mozambique and other African countries, jointly deal with challenges in economic development and build ecological civilization. Hailing the Mozambique-China friendship, Guebuza said bilateral cooperation has great potential. Guebuza said Mozambique would like to work more closely with China in agriculture, energy and infrastructure and seek sustainable development. In meeting with Lake-Tack, Yu said China and Antigua and Barbuda have equally treated and supported each other and worked comprehensively since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1983. Yu appreciated Antigua and Barbuda for supporting China on issues concerning the country\'s core interests. Yu proposed the two countries work together to deepen pragmatic cooperation and bring more benefits to the two peoples. Lake-Tack spoke highly of three-decade bilateral relations, saying Antigua and Barbuda would like to work more closely with China in tourism and other fields in a bid to boost bilateral relations.
