
Top Chinese political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with visiting Yemeni President Abdorabuh Mansour Hadi on Thursday. Yu,chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), reviewed China-Yemen relations, citing a solid political foundation, broad areas of cooperation and deep people-to-people friendship. Yu said China is satisfied with the development of bilateral ties and confident about the future. Yu said China will work with Yemen to implement the consensus reached by the presidents of the two countries, who held talks on Wednesday. He also reassured Hadi of China's strong support and possible assistance to Yemen, either on Yemen's political transition or on its development. Yu said the CPPCC National Committee will step up experience sharing with his Yemeni counterpart on state governance and political affairs. Hadi, who is paying his first state visit to China, said the bilateral friendship has a long history and continues to move forward. Hadi said he appreciated China's support to Yemen on its unification, security, stability and development. The Yemeni president said his country expects to establish long-term strategic cooperation with China in politics, trade and economy. Hadi is scheduled to conclude his four-day China visit on Friday.
