Donald Trump has reached the number of delegates needed to clinch the nomination as the Republican's candidate to be the next US President.
A small number of unbound delegates said they would support Trump at the party’s July convention, pushing him over the top of the 1,237-delegate threshold needed to win the Republican nomination for president. The billionaire businessman’s total has reached 1,238, according to media reports.
On Thursday, US President Barack Obama told a press conference on the sidelines of G7 Summit the proposals that Trump earlier made "display either ignorance of world affairs or a cavalier attitude or an interest in getting tweets and headlines instead of actually thinking through what is required to keep America safe."
