Tunisian Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali met on Thursday with Prime Minister of the dismissed Palestinian government Ismail Haneya, who is currently visiting Tunisia. “Palestine for Tunisians is not only an address, but rather a religious and national commitment towards brothers living under siege and facing the ravages of Zionist policies,” Haneya said after the meeting adding that he visited Tunisia to break the economic siege imposed on Gaza Strip. Haneya saluted victims of the revolution and praised the steadfastness of the Tunisian people and its ability to make great transitions that influenced other Arab Spring countries. “You created a model for political partenership where Islamists, nationalists and liberals integrated to formulate a Tunisian reality that respects democracy and citizenship and gives a model for the consecutive governments in Tunisia and elsewhere,” Haneya said. Jebali greeted Haneya in the name of Tunisian people and government and reiterated Tunisian support to the Palestinian people and all its rights. He also expressed great satisfaction at steps taking toward Palestinian reconciliation. Haneya arrived in Tunis earlier today on a two-day visit, as part of a regional tour started with Turkey and includes a number of Arab nations.
