
Tunisian Interim President Moncef Marzouki met Friday with Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Zhang Ming who is currently on a visit to Tunis. The meeting reviewed the Tunisian-Chinese cooperation and means of boost it for the benefit of the two countries' interests, state news agency TAP reported. Zhang highlighted the long-standing relations between the two countries, which date back to 50 years. According to a Tunisian presidency press release, the Chinese official expressed the determination of both sides to promote ties and make the best of all the opportunities provided to further reinforce them, TAP added. He also emphasized the clear development in past years, of partnership between the two countries in various fields, expressing hope that this co-operation will develop. The Chinese official's visit comes as part of a regional tour that also took him to Algeria.
