Turkish warplanes renewed bombardment of border areas in the Kurdistan region of Iraq targeting positions of Kurdistan Labour Party ( PKK). An Iraqi security source said that Turkish warplanes today violated the airspace of Kurdistan region and bombed the district of Soarn in Erbil governorate and its surrounding villages, causing big material damage to the region. The source did not mention losses in lives. More than 45 thousand people were since the PKK took up arms against Ankara in 1984 calling for granting the Kurds, who make up the majority in the southeast of the country, an autonomous rule.
