
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed during a phone conversation on Saturday with US Counterpart John Kerry the extradition of Fetullah Gulen, leader of the "parallel entity" organization, accused of orchestrating Friday's failed coup from the United States to Turkey.
According to Turkish diplomatic sources, Cavusoglu and Kerry discussed the legal procedures of Gulen's extradition.
Addressing supporters in Istanbul on Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged the United States to extradite Gulen to Turkey, saying "If we are strategic partners then you should bring about our request".
