Turkish FM underlies Iran\'s vital role in region\'s political, economic stability

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu reiterated that expansion of economic ties with Iran would help both Turkey and the other regional countries enhance their political and economic stability. Davutoglu said in an interview with CNN Turk on Thursday, “Economic harmony between Iran and Turkey would not only benefit both countries, but would also seriously boost the entire regional economy. It would in addition to that lead to the expansion of a positive political atmosphere in the region, leading to the prevalence of peace and stability in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.” Iran and Turkey have increased their cooperation in various fields of economy, security, trade, education, energy, and culture in recent years. The two sides have exchanged several politico-economic delegations during the last few months. Turkey imports more than 90 percent of its oil and gas. Iran and Turkey are determined to boost their trade exchanges to $35bln in the near future.
