Turkish FM warns against \'all-out\' sectarian conflict in Middle East

Turkish foreign minister said the Syria war risks Sunni-Shiite conflict in the region Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has made a terse warning against an all-out sectarian conflict in the Middle East with Syria\'s civil war increasingly threatening the entire region. \"The escalation of the Syria crisis poses a grave danger. The region from Iran to Lebanon is tried to be dragged into a Sunni-Shiite conflict,\" Davutoglu told Friday a an interview on a private Turkish television channel. Davutoglu accused international community of failing to take a concerted action against \"oppression\" in Syria, saying the UN Security Council has also failed to live up to its responsibilities. Davutoglu rejected criticisms that Turkey\'s policy on the Syria crisis was misguided, saying, \"we have two criteria: one is moral and the other is strategic. In moral terms, we would do anything that our conscience dictate us to do.\"
