Three Kurdish rebels were killed during clashes in Turkey's south east Anadolu region, Turkish military sources said on Sunday. A statement by the Turkish military Chief of Staff said on its website that the clashes occurred between Turkish security forces and a group of Kurdish rebels from Kurdistan Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) in Aghara region, south west of the country, adding as result the three rebels were killed. Despite the clashes, recently the Turkish government has been exerting efforts to achieve conciliation with Kurdistan region, through various forms of recognition emphasized in recent weeks by the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
