Turkish president calls for continuity of democracy in Egypt

Turkish President Abdullah Gul urged the continuity of democracy in Egypt immediately without any division among people and offending society. Gul said he expected strides to be taken as soon as possible to allow return of democracy. \"Latest developments in Egypt are of articular concern to us. Turkish people were pleased to see democracy after a long period of authoritarian regime in Egypt, but now we are deeply sorry about interruption of democracy,\" said Gul. \" It is not possible to have a healthy democracy in one year after an authoritarian regime for long years.  Our greatest desire is that the army will hand over the control of the county to its people, and the elected will start ruling Egypt again.\" Gul  called for \'transparent, fair and free\' elections and reiterated that Egypt\'s elected President Morsi would not be offended. Egypt has \'huge\' financial problems, said Gul, adding \"If Egypt loses its energy with instability, economic problems its is facing will haunt Egypt.\"
