Turkish President Abdullah Gul was hospitalised with an ear infection Friday, the day after he cut short a trip to Kyrgyzstan on health grounds, his doctors said. Murat Tuncer, a doctor at Hacettepe University\'s medical centre in the capital Ankara, said Gul would remain there for several days for treatment of an infection in both ears. The president\'s health was nonetheless improving, Tuncer told Turkish press agency Anatolia. Gul has previously been treated for the same condition and had to cut short or postpone foreign trips because flying can cause problems for weak eardrums. Gul is expected in Stockholm on September 10.
