Turkish Red Crescent feeding Syrians every day

Turkish Red Crescent provides daily supplies to those affected by the civil unrest in Syria and struggle to live in the tent cities near the Turkish border. Supplies include daily provisions as well as medication, blanket, fruits and vegetables. Syrians, who had to flee their homeland due to the civil unrest, try to survive under difficult conditions across the Reyhanli and Yayladagi districts of Turkey\'s southern border province Hatay. Nearly five thousand Syrians who took shelter in the area nearby Yayladagi reside in the tent cities and live on the aid distributed by relief organizations. Turkish Red Crescent distributes 4,500 provisions each day, including cheese, olives, jam, butter and chocolate, alongside bread, water, fruits and vegetables. The most heart-wrenching of all is the wait of children near the wire fence at the border, who consume the food by the time they reach their tents. Turkish Red Crescent continues distributing toys, shoes and clothing for the children and diapers and baby food for infants from time to time. Turkish Red Crescent has also sent two trucks loaded with 50 tonnes of flour to the Latakia province of Syria.
