
UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mahmoud Mohammed Al Mahmoud, has met with the United Nations (UN) Assistant Secretary-General and Regional Humanitarian Co-ordinator for the Sahel, Toby Lanzer.
Al Mahmoud and Lanzer discussed issues and humanitarian challenges faced by the region due to wars, catastrophes, poverty and diseases.
Lanzer highlighted the efforts of the UN office and its vital role in providing aid despite the challenges, especially those resulting from the crises witnessed by these regions.
The UAE Ambassador pointed to the prominent and distinguished efforts of the UAE in relief operations and provision of humanitarian assistance. He also noted the UAE's efforts to provide humanitarian and charitable aid for those who are in need across the world.
