
The United Arab Emirates has allocated about 15 million dollars to support the activities of the United Nations Works and Relief Agency (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip.
According to the UAE news agency (WAM), the grant will help enhance the in the strip through upgrading skills of students and paying off the salaries of around 820 teachers along with operating around 20 schools.
The UAE is fully committed to supporting Palestinian refugees, especially in the educational field out of its faith in the importance of education for a better future for the Palestinian young people, said UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bin Ibrahim al Hashemy in press statements.
Grants extended by the UAE to the Palestinian State since 2011 hit around 445 million dollars.
