Syria has reached this point of conflict because the regime fails to carefully listens to calls by the Arab League which aim at creating suitable atmospheres for political solution, UAE\'s foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nuhayyan. \"We were unable as Arabs to push for a political solution or bring about the international community to make this happen,\" Sheikh Abdullah told a joint news conference with his Ukranian counterpart Kostyantyn Hryshcenko, after a joint committee meeting. \"It is important that the international community realizes that it has great and legal responsibility to preserve security and stop the killings in populated areas by the Syrian regime,\" he said. Sheikh Abdullah said not only civilians were exposed to violent acts but also some neighboring countries. The longer the conflict is the harder the solution is, he said. The conflict in Syria \"widened the sectarian division in the region,\" he said. Sheikh Abdullah said the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ukraine share the view that killing should stop immediately. He underlined that the UAE would push for the political solution, coupled with the support of the Syrian opposition. Hryshcenko, meanwhile, said Ukraine was deeply worried about the Syrian conflict. \"We believe the international community to carry out its role to find a peaceful solution because what is happening in Syria is threatening neighboring countries,\" he said.
